BACKGROUND
The National Consultative Forum is an umbrella institution with representation from all registered Political Parties and Organisations in the Country. It was launched by the Electoral Commission on 17th August, 2010; and it is currently composed of 32 members, with a Secretariat at Electoral Commission.
The vision of the NCF is to be an interparty platform for excellence in consensus building and sustainable democracy; and seeks to create harmony and peaceful co-existence through mediating, dialoging, monitoring, capacity building and conflict resolution amongst political parties and organizations as a means of promoting and sustaining democracy in our country, as its mission.
LEGAL ESTABLISHMENT
The National Consultative Forum for Political Parties and Organisations (NCF) is institutionalised by the Constitution of Uganda under Article 71(2) and operationalised under the Political Parties and Organisations Act (PPOA) of 2005 (as amended).
NCF STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
The Strategic objectives of the NCF are guided by its five year Strategic Plan 2013 – 2018 which, among others, seeks to promote political dialogue, pursuit of consensus and national cohesion with a view of sustainable social-economic development.
